This Florida sign, kidnapped long ago from its nice warm home in Palm Beach Gardens and taken to Belchertown, Massachusetts, is not handling the harsh winters very well. I first spotted it in 2013 during a paddle on the Swift River.
I’ve been back to the Swift many times since then and have watched it getting older and older.
The top photo is from 2013 and the bottom photo is from this year.

So, Ron, were you responsible for the “kidnapping”? Or some anonymous paddler person?
Aside from the paint/coatings deterioration and some metal corrosion, looks like it became a favorite for target practice?
I’m hungry for more on this story. 🙂

Not guilty your honor. I suspect it was someone who lives in the area as it took a bit of planning, work and time to get the post set and all. It’s in a couple feet of water, not up on the bank. As for the bullet holes, it’s the Massachusetts wilderness, what can I say?
